The iPad had opened up doors we never thought possible and Virtual Scribe brings a level of expertise that we only dreamed about.  But, as with so many times in my life, when I need something to help move me forward, it shows up in the most unusual ways.

Never the less, we are very excited about this joint venture and look forward to it’s release in early June.

Talk Show Host Dennis Prager wrote a great book a few years ago titled “Happiness is a Serious Problem” in which he talks a lot about how it is our duty to be as happy as we can with everyone in our lives, but especially with our family members.  Dennis even has what he calls the “Happiness Hour”  each Friday where he talks to people who struggle with happiness in their lives.

When we can laugh and play with our family young or old, we keep the happiness quotient high, the doors to multiple levels of communication swing wide open and we learn how be civil during strong discourse over delicate issues.  We learn to be fair in arguments.  We learn to love each other deeper and not want to hurt one another…humor and happiness that is stressed in our daily lives can make these things happen.

It’s not hard,  We are civil to the cat or the dog or the neighbor.  Why not our family?

When you work at being happy it becomes a habit and habits, as we all know, once made are hard to break.  What a wonderful thing good habits eh?

My Father is 88 and we have worked over the past 8 years since my Mother passed away to keep laughing through the hard times.  To lift each others spirits on a daily basis with teasing and play.  Sure we discuss the hard stuff, the political stuff, the things that make life difficult and then we try to find the irony and the humor.  It almost always works, and when we hang up, we are both laughing and our day is better for it.

Work at being happy with your family.  I mean it.  Don’t just take it for granted, because it can just slip away so quickly if you aren’t paying attention.  Simply make your life wonderful with humor and play and play and more play.

In the end, it’s just one man’s opinion, mine.
